Getting ready for winter
In many places, winter is cold and food is hard to find, so animals get ready in autumn. A squirrel hides nuts to eat later. Some birds fly away to warmer places, and a bear sleeps through most of the winter in its den.
Spring brings new life
In spring the days grow warmer and longer. Trees grow fresh leaves and flowers open. Birds build nests and lay their eggs, and many baby animals are born. The sleepy bear wakes up and goes looking for food.
