The parts of a plant
Most plants have roots, a stem and leaves. The roots grow down into the soil, the stem holds the plant up, and the leaves are flat and green. Many plants grow flowers as well, and every part has its own job.
What each part does
The roots take in water from the soil. The water travels up the stem to the leaves. The leaves use sunlight to make food for the plant. The flowers make seeds, and each seed can grow into a new plant.
