Four seasons in a year
In many places, a year has four seasons. In spring the air warms up and plants begin to grow. Summer is the hottest season. In autumn, leaves change colour and fall, and winter is cold. Some places have a wet season and a dry season instead.
Long days and short days
In summer the days are long, and the Sun sets late in the evening. In winter the days are short, and it gets dark early, sometimes before dinner. The Sun also stays lower in the sky in winter, and the air is cold.
